Team Canada Curling - Update

The men's curlers of Team Canada, under supervision of Team Manager, Rita Bomak, competed at the Winnipeg Bonspiel from January 29 to February 2, 2009. A total of 412 teams from Canada, USA and other countries were in attendance.

Altogether, Team Canada won 5 games and lost 3. They had the opportunity to compete against Manitoba Deaf Curling Team of Brian Broszeit. A thrilled and exciting game in which Team Canada won 4 to 3.

Back from Winnipeg, Team Canada's curlers have enjoyed their experience and were glad to practice together in prevision of the World Deaf Ice Hockey and Curling Championships in Winnipeg from April 10 to 18, 2009.

The Women's curlers of Team Canada will compete and train at Airdee Bonspiel, in Alberta from February 6 to 8, 2009.

Team Canada curling's roster for the World Deaf Ice Hockey and Curling Championships consist of :

MEN : Michael Raby, Andre Guillemette, Damian Hum, David Joseph, Dale Proctor and Denise Hoekstra (Coach)

WOMEN : Judy Robertson, Sally Korol, Lynda Taylor, Nyla Kurylowich, Sherry Dunkley-Clark and Ross Lawrence (Coach)
